Recording the Electric Bass
| | Recording Electric Bass: For the Musician- Put on a new set of strings the night before.
- Set the pickup adjustment screws for even output from all strings.
- Check the harmonics, as it is vital that the instrument plays in tune.
Recording Electric Bass: For the engineer- Consider using a DI ( direct inject box) most basses are recorded this way.
- Keep instrument levels high and amp levels low.
- Use a compressor to even out the note-to-note differences in dynamic range that are often encountered with electric bass.
