Recording Tip:Didgeridoo
| | | For an accurate, clean sound, place an omnidirectional mic two metres away from the end of the didgeridoo, and blend this with another mic close-up. Place both mics near the floor. To get a more resonant sounds that picks up on the way that the didgeridoo’s low notes reverberate in enclosed spaces, place a stereo pair of mics about 2-3 metres away.
If recording in a carpeted area, improve the overall reflection of sound by placing a sheet of plywood under the performer and their instrument.
